Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Floods, Hurricanes and other natural disasters.

My name is Leopold Mac Ender. I am an architect and in this short presentation I would like to convey to you some of my ideas relating

To earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis. I believe I have found a novel solution which will minimize the damage caused by these natural catastrophes.

My answer lies in the nature of the building construction both before and after disaster strikes. I have been developing my ideas for many years and I’m gratified as an architect in Denmark 1970 and before that graduated as building engineer 1964 in Sweden.

I have worked in several places around the world as an architect and building engineer and I have often been faced with design problems in buildings which have been destroyed or partially destroyed during earthquakes.

I am sure that this solution I have arrived at will interest the building industry, locally and internationally. Traditional methods have not been very successful in dealing with the after effects of earthquakes, even close low on the Richter scale. My design can deal with any level of shock, be it from earthquakes, hurricanes or tsunamis. In these contexts most human deaths and injuries are caused by collapsing buildings. Using my unique construction techniques existing, damaged or destroyed buildings can be copied or rebuilt after a catastrophe and a further treat of collapse will disappear once my construction techniques have been employed. I have spent many years developing my ideas and I am certain my construction method can save thousands of lives.

I am currently conducting tests on full scale parts and models and I have built and exposing them to simulated conditions of earthquakes.

A major advantage in using my method is that all materials on site, even after an earthquake can be utilized.

My constructions will be economic and simple to use. They will be environmentally friendly, may on site materials being recycled. The new buildings will be healthily habitable for up to 100 years. These buildings are based on a special steel construction surrounded by soft concrete sheets. These facing sheets are filled up with foamed concrete (itself partly constituted of all sort of recycled materials from for example, a disaster site). With this my design it will be possible to rebuild even exact copies of crashed houses directly on the place.

My constructions revolve around the basic principle of “Floating Feet”.
